I see this question all the time, either in email, twitter, yahoo answers, all over the place. So I decided I would take 5 minutes and do a quick and dirty how to video about the process I use to achieve this effect. I sound a little like a game show host, so I will chalk that up to it was early in the morning when I made the video. I am interested if this is how everyone achieves this or do you have another way? Leave me a comment and tell me how you get this effect.

Brilliant. I can’t believe how easy this is!
That is one way to do it, but there is an easier way. First make the color image B&W. Then create a mask on that layer and use either the paint brush on black or the eraser.
